Volabus
With Volabus offering shuttle bus service between the airport and the city center, you can reach the airport in about half an hour by paying 6 Euro. The bus first stops by the two railway stations in the city, then by the city center and goes directly to the airport.
You can buy your ticket in the bus or at the AMT ticket office located on D'Annunzio street in the city center. There is also a ticket vending machine at both train stations. The first bus departs at 05:15 am, and the last bus departs at 10:10 pm.
Shuttle
Shuttle services are very affordable and comfortable means of transportation for those staying in Sestri Ponente. These shuttles do not pass through the city center. The shuttles operate between 06:53 am to 07:36 pm and the travel lasts about 12 minutes.
Taxi
You can reach the airport by taxi which you can easily find in the city center. The airport is only 6 km. For this reason, the amount you will pay is not too high. If you ask for help from your hotel, they can arrange a taxi to pick you up right in front of the hotel. You can reach the airport in about 24 minutes by taxi.
Hotel Shuttle
The number of hotels is very high in the city which has become an important tourist destination and transfer point for many visitors. Therefore, the majority of hotels offer airport shuttle service for their guests. In order to benefit from this service, you should get in contact with your hotel before your arrival and make a reservation. The travel lasts about 24 minutes.
Car Rental
You can agree with one of the car rental companies located in the city center and have a comfortable and free transportation service during your travel. If you wish, you can make this alternative more luxurious by renting a car with a private driver. If you go to the airport from the city center with a private car, the travel lasts about 24 minutes if there is not much traffic.
Airport Information
The airport which is very close to the sea in Genoa was named after the great explorer Colombo who was born in this city. It is a small and discolored airport that is in contradiction with the greatness of the city and its spectacular historical architecture.
However, it offers all kinds of standard services expected from an airport. It is only 6 km of the city. The airport has a lounge on the first floor. You can benefit from this service for free if you have a private card from one of the airline companies, including Turkish Airlines. If you do not have this card, you can use the lounge by paying 25 Euro and benefit from free Wi-Fi and computers, buffet and a comfortable environment.
There is a sufficient number of restaurants, bar, a duty-free shop and stores even if it is a small airport. There is also a terrace having a panoramic view. At the arriving passenger terminal, there is free internet service provided by the municipality. Throughout the airport, there is also a free internet service provided by the company Ubi Banco. You can use this service for 3 hours for free.
