About Morocco

Morocco, located in the arid lands of the African continent, boasts a rich history and cultural heritage. It ranks as the fifth-largest economy in Africa and the second-largest in the Maghreb region. Morocco's significant sources of income include its underground resources and agricultural products.
Moroccan society primarily consists of Arabs, with Berbers being another important ethnic group. Morocco, situated at the gateway of Africa and Europe, controls the Strait of Gibraltar and shares extensive borders with the Mediterranean to the north, Algeria to the east, Mauritania to the south, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The country experiences various climate types across its regions, with Mediterranean in the north, oceanic in the west, continental in the central areas, and desert in the south. While traveling in Morocco, expect sudden rains in some regions and scorching heat in others.
Casablanca, Morocco's largest city, has gained fame in numerous films and novels due to its stunning coastal views along the Atlantic Ocean. Following Casablanca, the capital city Rabat is another tourist attraction with its historical sites and museums. Marrakech, home to the country's largest traditional market known as Souk, and Fes, renowned for producing the world's finest ceramics, are among Morocco's most significant settlements.
Morocco holds several festivals and events all year round. The 4L Trophy, held in March in Marrakech, is a favorite among racing enthusiasts, while the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music in June brings together ethnic and religious music lovers. The Marrakech Marathon in January and the Sahara Marathon in Ouarzazate in April are also noteworthy sporting events.
Morocco is known for its diverse cuisine, where you can find a mixture of international cuisine and ethnic flavors. Couscous, and Harira, a type of fish soup, are some of the highly recommended dishes of Moroccan cuisine. The country's rich culinary traditions include various meat dishes and delightful fruits and vegetables.
