About Kiunga
Kiunga is a coastal town located on the Indian Ocean coast of northern Kenya and is only 15 kilometers of Somali.
Kiunga is a very small city with a population of only a few thousand people. However, this small city has a very important value; Kiunga Marine National Reserve. This seaside reserve is an important habitat for turtles and many species of birds. In addition, a rich underwater world is protected on this area. Kiunga Marine National Reserve covers an area of 270 square kilometers. Tens of islands and coral reefs are also included in this region. In the region, activities such as boat trips and diving tours accompanied by local tour guides are organized.
Kiunga is a city that experiences a transition from tropical climate to semi-desert climate. However, since it is located on the coast of the Indian Ocean, the air becomes a bit softer. The temperature is measured 26-27 degrees all the year round and the humidity is almost always very high.
