About Zaporizhzhia

Zaporizhia, established in 1770 against the Turk and Tatar invasions and with the building of the city walls, is one of the most important cities of Ukraine in terms of tourism and trade industries. Located along the coast of Dnieper River, built in 1932 and later becoming the symbol of the city, the hydroelectric central accelerated the growth of industrial activities in the city. Today, in terms of electric energy, coal, iron mining and nikopol manganese there are industries where these are taken and processed. In addition, machinery and construction is also quite developed in and around the city and is accepted as the industry center. 
Along with the industry in the city, the most attractive things in this city are the historical structures. On the Dnieper River is the city's second part named the Khortitsya Island which is the home to many historical structures, houses and restaurants and specifically drawing attention to the Kazakh Well, World War 2 fronts, and a 700 year old Chinar are places of great touristic value, contributing vastly to the industry. The city is also the home to Eurasia's second longest street, Lenin Prospect. Coming forth with its industries and tourism, Ukraine's 6th largest city Zaporizhia has an airport with many flights coming in from various cities including Istanbul and Antalya. The airport is 15 km to the east of the city center.

You can easily reach the city center from Zaporizhia International Airport by taking a taxi. If you prefer public transportation, you can also take a bus. There are also the offices of some car rental companies at the airport. Some hotels in Zaporizhia also offer shuttle services special to their guests.

Taxi

You can see the taxis waiting for passengers right in front of the arrival terminal of the airport. Taximeters are not available in many taxis or they are not used. You should definitely talk with the driver about the taxi fare and destination. You shouldn't hesitate to bargain with the driver because the taxi service is offered to the tourists at higher prices. You can reach the city center in less than half an hour from the airport under normal traffic conditions.

Bus

It is possible to get to the city center by taking the bus number 3 from the bus stops at the airport. One-way ticket price is 3.5 Hryvnia. The buses depart every 13 minutes and the bus ride takes about one hour.

Hotel Shuttle Service

Many hotels in Zaporizhia offer airport shuttle service to their guests. If you want to take the advantage of this service, you need to make a reservation in advance and you should inform your hotel about your arrival time and the number of passengers and luggage. Please keep in mind that the hotel shuttle service may be a bit more expensive compared to taking a taxi.

Rent a car

Zaporizhia International Airport has the offices of some rental car companies. By renting a car, you can enjoy the comfort during your journey, but please keep in mind that you need to have an international driver's license. If you prefer, you can also rent a car with a driver by paying a bit more for this service.
